A faster yet easier production of springs seems to be a contradiction. The innovative solutions offered by WAFIOS help you to achieve both. From April 13 through 17, WAFIOS presents at the wire & Tube 2026 in Düsseldorf, Germany, a wide range of solutions for the production of springs. Software innovations and intelligent systems offer machine operators additional support.

WAFIOS Innovation Center - The room for real innovations

At the wire 2026, WAFIOS shows a large selection from their range of products: from wire bending machines to an assisted straightening machine and innovate new automation developments to different spring machines. WAFIOS presents intelligent systems and technical innovations that facilitate machine operation and accelerate production. Visitors will find the latest developments in the Innovation Center which is an independent area at the WAFIOS booth. It holds two machines that reach highest outputs due to parallel production processes: the BQ 10 for bent wire parts and the MULTI-FMU 32 for springs. Both machines produce their workpieces almost on a second-by-second basis and thus open up new dimensions in production.

International premiere of the spring machine MULTI-FMU 32

The new Transfer Spring Machine MULTI-FMU 32 impresses by highest outputs that are achieved by parallel processes. It combines flexibility and performance in a new machinery concept and succeeds the familiar and built-to-last ASF/BSF and FSO 3 machines. Due to modular-structured processing stations and an innovative, patent-pending transfer system, the machine can be configured project-specifically. At the same time, it offers an up to five times higher output as compared to a universal torsion spring machine such as the FMU 32+. The new generation of machines is especially suited for the production of medium-sized and large batches of extension springs with extended loops. The MULTI-FMU 32 produces extension springs from wire diameters of 1.2 – 3.2 mm using the mandrel coiling technique. At the fair, the machine will be equipped with a mandrel coiling device, a trimming device, a camera measuring system and a sorting device to meet highest quality standards.

Like FMU machines, the MULTI-FMU is programmed via geometry elements. FMU operators will know immediately what to do which saves long training times. Simultaneously, the machine increases the production output due to parallel production stations and impresses with its modular structure and wide fields of applications.

The new compression spring machine with a quick retooling system

WAFIOS presents at the wire show 2026 the FUL 56+ which is the successor of the high-performance compression spring machine FUL 56. The spring machine produces compression springs of 1.5 to 5.5 mm wire diameter. The new generation of machines stands out due to increased machine dynamics and about 15% higher infeed speeds. All well-proven options, like a camera measuring system including iQcontrol, the 3D Former and the multi-e cutting device are available. As a convenient innovation, the FUL 56+ can be equipped with the PTPduo coiling finger. During the coiling process, the PTPduo coiling finger follows the pitch of the spring. This makes it possible to perfectly adjust different coiling courses and initial spring tensions.

The new quick tool change system for compression spring tools reduces tooling times and downtimes considerably. Especially in the production of different springs, a quick and reliable change of tools is vital to minimize production-related downtimes. New tool holders define the installation position of the wire guides, coiling tools, cutting tools and pitch tools that need to be exchanged. After the retooling process, production can be restarted without having to readjust the tools.

The "Swiss Army Knife" of the spring industry

At the FMU 32+, WAFIOS shows the Modular Loop Concept (MLC) for the production of springs with German (machine) loops and English (crossover) loops. The MLC enlarges the variety of parts that can be produced on a machine. For the FMU, the MLC has been designed for small and medium-sized batches. Moreover, the FMU 32+ stands out by a high flexibility in the processing of different materials. Besides steel wire, also copper as well as high-strength wire can be processed. This is made possible by a variable infeed system that guarantees a reliable infeed of these materials. With the optional insulation stripping device FSA 2.5, the insulation layer of round copper wire can be removed without any problems.

An exhibition booth with an extensive range of products

In addition to the latest machines, tool solutions, and service products from WAFIOS, other companies from the group and close partners will also be presenting their technologies at the booth. The maintenance software connectavo, our longstanding technology partner Böhm Elektronik as well as WAFIOS Umformtechnik and E.W.Menn will present their innovative products at the WAFIOS booth. Together they show a broad range of competence and innovation along the entire process chain.
