WAFIOS's family-conscious HR policy has been supporting employees for many years in balancing family and work life. This includes several factors that build on each other: the exemplary behavior of leading personnel, the possibility to take parental leave as well as individual work models for employees who find themselves in challenging situations.
familyNET awards the "Family-Conscious Company" title since 2013. 345 companies have received this title so far. Now, also WAFIOS was awarded this title for their family-friendly, employee-focused and sustainable corporate culture. The title can be awarded to companies, organizations and establishments of the social economy.
"This award is an important milestone for WAFIOS on our way to becoming an even more family-friendly and inclusive employer. We want to particularly thank the Regional Project leader of familyNet Julia Göbel who so competently accompanied and advised us in this process", says Florian Kohfink, Head of the WAFIOS HR Department.
As a traditional family business with deep roots in Baden-Württemberg, WAFIOS can look back on a long history. Our close ties to the area are reflected not only in our social responsibility, but also in our special commitment to the compatibility of family and career - an aspect that was recognized by familyNET's award as a “Family-Conscious Company”. "It is important to us that our employees have access to offers that help them in their respective life situations. Be it caring for relatives, looking after children or carrying out voluntary work", says Kohfink. The success of the measures is also evidenced by the fact that the workforce has been with the company for many years, often over several generations.
"The ‘Family-Conscious Company’ title shows employees that their life situation is valued. WAFIOS offers support in different life situations and thus creates a modern and flexible work environment", says Julia Göbel, Regional Project Leader at familyNET.
The title is based on the size and working methods of the company and is assessed on the basis of ten fields of action. The assessment is based on interviews and questionnaires with management, HR managers and employees. An independent panel of experts is responsible for assessment and awarding. familyNET is an offer of the Employers' Associations Südwestmetall and Chemie, coordinated by the Educational Institute of the Baden-Württemberg Economy Association (Bildungswerk der Baden-Württembergischen Wirtschaft e.V.) in cooperation with the Ministry of Economics, Labor and Tourism of Baden-Württemberg (Ministerium für Wirtschaft, Arbeit und Tourismus), the Baden-Württemberg State Family Council (Landesfamilienrat) and the State Association for Child Day Care (Landesverband Kindertagespflege).
